What is WayHost?

In one sentence

WayHost is a control panel that connects your GitHub account to your Ubuntu/Debian VPS, then deploys and manages Odoo with Docker — similar to Odoo.sh, but the servers stay yours.

What you get

  • Projects linked 1:1 with a GitHub addons repository.
  • Production + staging environments with their own URLs.
  • Push-to-deploy via GitHub webhooks (when the platform URL is public).
  • Backups — manual and scheduled — to the server, SSH, Google Drive, or OneDrive.
  • Team roles so colleagues can deploy or only view.
  • Connect one-click login into Odoo, plus a browser SSH shell.
  • Submodules for extra private/public addon repos.

How it differs from Odoo.sh

  • Infrastructure is your VPS (SSH + Docker Compose), not Odoo’s cloud.
  • DNS for *.your-platform-domain is optional and usually configured by a platform admin (Cloudflare).
  • You can also attach custom domains with Let’s Encrypt on the VPS.

Mental model

  1. You sign in with GitHub and (if required) wait for admin approval.
  2. You create a project: GitHub repo + SSH server + Odoo version.
  3. WayHost provisions Docker (Odoo + Postgres) on that server and wires git deploy keys / webhooks.
  4. Day-to-day: push code, sync branch, manage staging, backups, domains, and team from the project page.
